MikroTik CHR Licensing

What are the available license levels for MikroTik CHR?

MikroTik provides four primary license levels for CHR:

  • free License -Allows up to 1 Mbps throughput per interface.
  • p1 perpetual-1($45) - Offers unlimited usage with a 1 Gbps throughput per interface.
  • p10 perpetual-10($95) - Provides unlimited usage with a 10 Gbps throughput per interface.
  • p-unlimited perpetual-unlimited($250) - Grants unlimited usage with no throughput restrictions.

60-day free trial license is available for all paid license levels. To get the free trial license, you should have an account on Mikrotik.com as all license management is done there.

Perpetual is a lifetime license (buy once, use forever). It is possible to transfer a perpetual license to another CHR instance. A running CHR instance will indicate the time when it has to access the account server to renew its license. If the CHR instance will not be able to renew the license it will behave as if the trial period has ran out and will not allow an upgrade of RouterOS to a newer version, as well as disable some cloud functionality.

In case you experience low speeds of internet traffic via CHR, please check what license level you are using.

"MikroTik CHR - Basic" and "MikroTik CHR - Standard" comes with free license level, which has a limitation up to 1 mbps upload speed per interface! Extended license should be purchased and installed by the user itself.

"MikroTik CHR - Licensed" also comes with free license, and the included P1 license is manually installed by our support team, after the purchase.
